This book is a self published work and I usually anticipate a few editorial errors or slip ups, hell I even anticipate those from the big houses. Let me just congratulate and give a HUGE thumbs up to Forged in Fire's editors. OUTSTANDING job! Now on to my favorite things.... the heroes. US Navy Seals. Yum, yum eat em up with a spoon, yum. Zane, Rawls, and (keep your hands off, he's mine) Cosky and even that snarly Mac, are the epitome of what the male of our species should be. Honorable, loyal, faithful, tall and well endowed....um well educated, yeah, well educated. I love these Seals, I want to do incredibly dirty and complicated things with them. The relationship these guys had was just too incredible for words. It just kept me so enmeshed in this story. It was like if J.R. Wards Brothers somehow joined Suzanne Brockman's Troubleshooters. It was that EPIC. And Beth, bless her little lucky heart, she just was overwhelmed at first. She put on her big girl panties and damned well earned that heroine title. The story and plot ARC will keep you on the edge of your seat, the characters will keep you glued to it. If you have ever taken one of my recommendations seriously, now is the time to do it. This book has it going on and I will back that up in spades. There is absolutely not one thing that is not perfect in this book and it is certainly going on my top picks of 2011. I will be the first to admit, I was very skeptical about this book. I am not normally a paranormal lover, and went in to reading it with a very closed mind. I couldn't have been more surprised when I loved it. My book pals will never believe me when I tell them, I can't wait for the next in this series. The psychic connMeghan O'Connor ection between Beth and Zane is wickedly awesome. Their banter and his "your mine" attitude ratcheted up the lust level for me. There was so much going on in this book. My heart broke when the SAC watched the video of his wife, and then when she put all of what had been done to her aside to help the others. I sincerely think my favorite part was when Mac blew off the bad guys balls, I gasped and giggled at the same time. My only issue with this book, was that it seemed to end rather abruptly. I am hoping the next book will pick up where this one left off, although waiting isn't my best attribute. ( Hope Frost / Hope's Book shelf)

I loved this book! McCallan's writing is fast-pace and exciting, you don't want to skip any of it! She built a story world that you can see very clearly as you read, with compelling villains, torn victims and sexy SEALs and not forgetting the main couple - I love books where the man knows exactly what he wants and isn't afraid to be little scheming to get it, especially when it's a woman. Zane was all this! He's hot, seductive, possessive and yet so genuine with his desire to be with her for the rest of his life. I loved that Beth wasn’t the dumb woman getting in the way of people who know how to do their job, she had her own strengths and Zane had his, she didn’t go busting in anywhere and getting herself in trouble for the hero to save – I loved that! Before I write this review, I have to make sure I'm firmly seated on the entire sitting surface of my chair. Why you ask? Because I've been sitting on the edge of my seat since I started this book and have only now recovered enough of my wits to realize I should sit back. This is one hell of a kick ass ride...so, in the words of Samuel L. Jackson, hold onto your butts! *** I loved our SEAL team, loved their OIC Mac (even though he did come off as a complete ass...you just know there is a juicy story there), loved Beth and how for someone who sometime came off as timid she was all in that SEAL team's face when needed. I felt sorry for FBI SA Chastain, Amy, Ginny and Todd to have gotten caught up in something that truly was beyond them. Their situations had you wondering if you wouldn't have done the exact same thing in an effort to protect your family. I hated Russ Branson, hated the crew who secure "the house" (Chino got what he freaking deserved!) and absolutely loathe whoever is leading the terrorist group.(Cocktails and Books, “Shannon”)

I loved every minute I spent reading this book! The two main characters had such amazing chemistry. I have not read a book like this in a very long time. Beth had to keep reminding herself that she had only know Zane for a day, I had to also remember that. Usually when characters fall completely "in Love" with one another and hardly no time as passed - I find it very unbelievable. Not with this book and when they finally do get together sexually - WOW! I wish I was Beth in every way.

I am also sorry if I am being crude here but something that really stuck out in my mind is the fact during their love making session - Zane referred to his penis as a penis and not a dick as so many books do. It made that scene so much more real and personal to me!

If I had to find something neg about this book, it would be that according to the end the next book out in the series will not be until next summer. Well it will not be a hardship at all for me to have to read this one again & again until then.

Thank you Ms. McCallan for a wonderful book, one that I will be reading over and over again and I cannot wait to the next one comes out to continue with series. (Meghan O'Connor , Amazon Review )
